GARDEN TO TABLE - Update in Term 3
Tamariki have been working hard in our ngahere with Pappy and Winston. They
have planted over 100 plants throughout our ngahere and with support have
made a native pathway and seating throughout our ngahere. This has become
such a peaceful and tranquil space for tamariki to work in.

Too wet to collect harakeke. Paper strips worked just fine. However, because
of the flexibility they kept bending. We are investigating making harakeke baskets to
use for our plants when the tupu are visible - a sustainable option instead of using plastic
containers.

We have learning about Maramataka
In-room 15 we have been learning about Maramataka
Maramataka is like a circle with days that are good and bad. They also show what days are good for fishing if it is going to be a good day or a bad day when is it good for eeling getting seafood and even more. Maramataka is like a calendar that people use for the next years that are coming so they know what is going to be happening and what they can do. Maramataka is a really good thing to have all the time because if don't watch the news you can just read your Maramartara calendar or whatever you have been writing your Maramartaka.
