GARDEN TO TABLE - Update in Term 3

Tamariki have been working hard in our ngahere with Pappy and Winston. They
have planted over 100 plants throughout our ngahere and with support have
made a native pathway and seating throughout our ngahere. This has become
such a peaceful and tranquil space for tamariki to work in.

Tamariki in the kitchen have been busy this term utilising vegetables, herbs and
flowers in our garden into our recipes. Some of the kai we have cooked this term has been,
herb scones, coleslaw, vege soup, stir-fry, fried rice etc

Too wet to collect harakeke.  Paper strips worked just fine.  However, because
of the flexibility they kept bending. We are investigating making harakeke baskets to
use for our plants when the tupu are visible - a sustainable option instead of using plastic
containers.

WELL DONE KWS Kapa Haka Roopu

CULTURAL FESTIVAL
Another successful Cultural Festival with AMAZING support. Thank you very much to our tutors and whanau.

Cultural Festival

Rooms 12, 13 and 15 made a huge commitment to Wednesday's after school wananga for Kapa Haka. All this hard work really paid off as tamariki performed to the best of their ability.
We want to thank our tutors Nellie, Koby (an ex KWS student), Heeni and Mikaira for all the expertise and paitence when teaching our tamariki. Watch this space - we will add our video on.
