Whainga Ako: understanding skills and importance of maintaining our maara and utilising our kihini.


During Week 7-9 we will be working our maintaining our maara and our kihini. Tamariki will come up with their own recipes using the kai from our maara.

Whainga Ako: understanding how to code a ROBOT to make it move


With the support of our Kaiawhina Amber our tuakana were able to code our school robots and make them move. Tamariki had a competition to see who could win a race they coded.

Whainga Ako: update on our GARDENS


Thank you to Harmony and Te Kiriahi for creating this presentation to share at Wairestoration Hui - where Enviroschools shared to everyone to show the AMAZING mahi we are currently working on at KWS.

Whainga Ako: korero Maori through pangarau kemu.


HUGE Thank-You to Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Kaikohe for inviting Room 15 to learn engaging kemu through korero Maori. Tamariki learnt so much pangarau and reo. 

Whainga Ako: code and create a robot.

Room 15 having been working alongside Whaea Amber to learn how to code our school ROBOTS. Whaea Amber has taught everyone how to create something and then code it to make it move. On Friday we were having competitions to see who could win a race we set up.

The butterfly effect is about this old selfish lady and there were 2 Amazing kids that do there
homework for the weekend and there  parents went up north for a weekend and the they did their homework and then the selfish lady’s name is mrs Anderson and then they
went down stairs and they sat on there cheers and they thought they were going to eat the
good staff but mrs Anderson didn't share because she wants to turn into a butterfly but
she left the kids with slimy food and a rotten sausage and then mrs anderson finished her
food then she went up stairs then the kids finished there food then mrs anderson didn’t
come back down stairs then they went up stairs and they Instigating what was
happening  in the room and they sore a big Cocoon Stuck on the roof then they grabbed
the fly spray and then they started to spay the old lady in the cocoon.

Marcus was a middle boy he was the middle child of his family. at school. He
wasn’t especially good at anything and he wasn’t especially bad at anything either sometimes. Marcus was so middle that his teacher forgot his name. The day that everything changed was a wednesday when Marcus was on his way to school. The wind started to blow it ruffled the leaves on the trees and swept along littles pieces of rubbish in room 6 they were all doing Handwriting when the funny feeling started marcus was trying extra hard. to do a good job on his w’s the wind was blowing harder it rattled at the windows and sneaked under the doors marcus’s insides started to feel strange.

I will explain what a good friend is. This is about a careful friend is
because they will look after you and be kind to you. I will look after you
because we are the best friends ever!. Your friend will play with because
you be kind to him and be honest  to him. If i was lonely a friend will say
do you want to play say arataki and i said yes i will play with you thank
you for asking. My good friend care for me and i will care for them. At
this point my friend say get out you playing know i will be sad will sit
somewhere he will say sorry for kicking you out do you want to play i
said yes and that's how he cared about me and that's make friendship.


I'm going to talk to you about a supportive friend a supportive is to look after eachother your friend will support you with all your things and help you with some of your work!. I will support my friend be kind to me the purpose of this explanation is to help you so you can support your friend.
